This fair trade garland is made in Nepal from Lokta paper.
Making Lokta paper is one of the traditions that has been preserved in Nepal to this day. Paper production involves three areas of work: raw material extraction, paper production and further processing. The raw material for the paper is the bark of the Lokta bush (silk bark), which grows at 2000 to 3000 meters above sea level.
